In 2021, Mperativ was launched by three long-time friends: two seasoned marketing leaders and one accomplished lead software architect. Over careers with large enterprises and fledgling startups, we'd noticed a frustrating pattern emerge.
Building a world-class demand engine was too costly and time-consuming because there was no blueprint to follow. CRM, marketing automation, and business intelligence solutions were powerful but too flexible. As a result, obtaining an essential level of marketing insights required endless customizations, sinking marketing dollars into consultants, or diverting resources away from growth priorities.
Marketing should be about accelerating growth and creating an outstanding brand, not spending our nights manually preparing data in spreadsheets.
Meanwhile, marketing leaders were increasingly marginalized because we struggled to link our activities to revenue. A lack of quality data and an overemphasis on top-of-funnel metrics made it difficult to convey the value of marketing to the rest of the business, while hurting our ability to make informed decisions around our go-to-market strategy.
After discussing over coffee at Muddy Waters cafe in San Francisco, we got to work on a solution.
Mperativ was created to help marketing leaders make more confident strategic decisions by providing you with easier access to smarter data throughout your entire go-to-market process. Through this, we hope to secure marketing’s position as an invaluable asset to the business and as the orchestrator of growth.
We’re dedicated to building a diverse team — in all senses of the word. And in the spirit of our behavior of radical candor: we’re not there yet. But here’s how we’re doing so far.
